We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and enthusiastic scholar to join a School committed to theoretically-informed, critical and multidisciplinary research and teaching. The School of Law enjoys an internationally recognised research profile and has grown significantly in recent years, including a successful expansion of our Criminology and Criminal Justice provision.The successful candidate will be required to contribute to the School’s Criminology programmes, in particular the BSc Criminology and Criminal Justice. They will be able to teach the core BSc module Sociology of Crime. We would welcome applications from those with expertise in the following areas: Policing; Political Violence and Terrorism; White Collar and Corporate Crime; Race and Crime; Victimology; International Criminal Justice; Spatial and Environmental Approaches to Crime; Mental Health, Disability and Crime; Migration, Borders and Crime Control.
Candidate Requirements:
Candidates should have completed or be near to completion of a PhD (or equivalent qualification), and show evidence of published research or exceptional potential. All academic staff within the School of Law are required (subject to assigned duties) to contribute to teaching, scholarship and published research relating to both undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes.Details available on the Birkbeck website: http://tinyurl.com/btptnss
