CLSA Mid Winter Meeting
November 8,2010

Toronto, February 4-5, 2011

The upcoming Mid-Winter meeting will take place at U of Toronto on Fri Feb 4 and Sat Feb 5.   The mid-winter meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity for members to get together, discuss professional and intellectual issues and socialize in a small, informal context.  All presentations will be on Fri Feb 4 and the Board meeting on Sat Feb 5.  (Board members are asked to attend since this is the main Board meeting of the year.)

Mariana Valverde at Toronto is handling logistics for the meeting so please contact her (m.valverde@utoronto.ca) if you have any logistical issues.  Dwight Newman at Saskatchewan (Dwight.newman@usask.ca) is handling the program for presentation of research/other socio-legal issues and should be contacted on anything re the research program.  Please confirm your attendance to Dwight by Dec 15.  At this point we are looking for people interested in presenting a paper on socio-legal research work in progress; presenting in any format on teaching socio-legal studies;  forming a panel on socio-legal research issues; or more generally presenting on socio-legal issues in any creative format.  Graduate students are also encouraged to participate and present, so please pass on the invitation to relevant grad programs.  Please indicate as soon as possible and in any case not later than Dec 15 if you are interested in presenting in some manner in one of the sessions on Friday Feb 4 (which may be important to some to be able to claim for conference travel) – if you have an idea for this, please consider indicating a working title for a proposed presentation (though changes in title at the start of your presentation are encouraged per long traditions of the occasion’s informality) or any creative idea, and Dwight will work those into a research program for the Friday.  Kindly note that you will need to have an up-to-date membership on file before you will be included in the program, so please ensure you have registered as a member through http://www.acds-clsa.org/

More details to follow later with full schedule.
